Today through January 1, Libray Ale House (located on Main Street in Santa Monica) is having a mini beer fest. For $10, purchase a logo glass; refills cost between $2.50-$5. I believe they also give you a 'proof of purchase' card when you purchase your logo glass, so you don't have to lug around your glass everytime you want to stop in for a beer (and free chips and salsa!) - just flash your Beer Fest card to one of their friendly bartenders! Here are just some of the festive beers that will be on tap to smaple: Jolly Pumpkin Noel de Calabaza, Nʼice Chouffe, Dogfish Head Pangaea & Head Chicory Stout, Sierra Nevada Celebration, Anchor Brewingʼs Merry Christmas Happy New Year Ale, Anderson Valleyʼs Winter Solstice, Delirium Noel, and Gouden Carolus Noel.

BYOB
Who doesn't love BYOB? It's a great way to dine out while enjoying your favorite (or cheapest) bottle of wine without a corkage fee! BYOB is perfect for birthdays when you know your party will drink as many bottles as people attending, without breaking the bank. There is protocol involved in BYOB, most importantly: no $2 Buck Chuck allowed (sorry, a line must be drawn), and please tip waiter generously for putting up with your cheapskate antics. That being said, bring on the wine! Here is a list, in no particular order of my favorite restaurants who honor a no corkage fee all week long:
Bandera (Brentwood)
BreadBar (W 3rd St NOT Century City)
Hillstone, formally Houstons (Santa Monica)
Houston's (Manhattan Beach, Century City)
I Cugini (Santa Monica)
Moa’s Kitchen (Venice)
The Foundry on Melrose (Hollywood)
R&D Kicthen (Santa Monica)
Simon LA (Beverly Hills)- first bottle only
Water Grill (Downtown)
CHAYA FRIDAY
Chaya is one of the few restaurants that offer a Friday night Happy Hour, and it goes on all night. |
Did you know that Chaya (Venice and Downtown locations only) have a Happy Hour that starts at 5pm and ends at closing? And it happens every night? Well now you know. Chaya is always a happening place, but with the opportunity to really let loose tonight and not have to worry about your hangover until tomorrow, head to Chaya for cheap drinks and food! What are you waiting for?
MATRADE NIGHT MARKET IN SANTA MONICA
MATRADE will host it's first ever Night Market in Los Angeles on the Santa Monica Promenade from 5:30-8:30p |
If you Culture Vultures are looking for something extra interesting to do this evening, from 5:30-8:30PM, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will host its first ever LA night market on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. MATRADE has hosted it's Night Market in the Meatpacking District of NYC in September. Some restaurants who are participating include Belacan Grill, Yazmin, Starry Kitchen, and Santa Monica's very own Monsoon, all of whom will be offering free tastes of traditional Malaysian street food! I've never tried this this type of fare, so I can't wait to dig in!

PALOMINO $6 PIZZA, $8 FLATBREAD
Palomino now offers all day Happy Hour prices on their bar food menu including $6 pizzas and $8 flat breads. |
Palomino is located in Westwood, and unfortunately is linked by it's UCLA neighborhood to an assumption that it must serve sub par food. In reality, Palomino has a great Happy Hour scene (good luck getting a spot to sit after 7) and more importantly good deals on surprisingly delicious bar food. The pizzas are big enough for a meal, or more than enough to share and nibble on as you exchange work gossip with coworkers after a long day.
WING WEDNESDAY
25 cent Wings at the Big Wangs Hollywood location, and 1/2 off wings at the NoHo location today. Better get cluckin! |

MAMA MIA! MOM'S BAR: $3 BOTTLE BEERS EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK!
Mom's bar offers daily $3 bottles of beer and $5 glasses of wine |
Mom's bar in West LA honors what most would consider a 24/7 happy hour menu. Bottles of Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light and MGD are only $3! They also offer $5 glasses of a red and white wine for the winos out there. As for the food, they have food trucks which park outside, and vary depending on the day. Can you say "Thanks Mom!"
NO BOYS ALLOWED!
Lilly's French Cafe: 1/2 off all selected wines and bar drinks/5:30 – 8:30pm (Women only, sorry boys!) |
It's Ladies Night at Lilly's French Cafe in Venice! Ladies Night reminds me of the 80's, or Sex and the City, either way- I'm not complaining about getting 1/2 off drinks tonight! And now Lilly's has a full bar, so whatever you're craving, as long as you're a lady, it's your night to shine! Sorry boys, no drink specials for you- BUT if you are looking for a lady rather than a deal, come by and play dumb, "I had no idea it was Ladies Night!"

MONDAY MONDAY, SO GOOD TO ME
Mondays are a harsh reality check, and should be a day dedicated to recovering from your weekend. Thankfully, Mondays have the best deals- at least there is one upside to this downer of a day. If you've been wanting to try Providence, but it's too pricey, tonight you can bring your own wine! A few other of my favorite spots are offering all night Happy Hours and other great deals around town.
Josie: free corkage, 2 bottle limit |
Lilly's French Cafe: Hamburger and Beer duo for $15 & all night Happy Hour with $5 Martinis |
